Bank Announces Employee Promotion and Appointment of New Advisory Board Member

Donald Gibson, President & CEO, and Martin Smith, Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Greene County, announced that due to the continued growth and success of the Bank’s Southern Region the Bank has expanded both its Advisory Board and created a new Officer position to focus on the region.

The Bank has appointed Daniel Leader to the Bank’s Advisory Board. The Bank’s Advisory Board is comprised of community leaders, and provides the Bank of Greene County Board of Directors with insight into better serving the financial needs of Hudson Valley communities.

Donald Gibson stated: “We are pleased to announce that Daniel Leader of Bread Alone has joined the Bank of Greene County’s Advisory Board.  Daniel Leader will be our first Advisory Board Member from Ulster County, and we are very excited to welcome him to the Advisory Board.

Daniel Leader is the founder of Bread Alone Bakery, and the author of several books on bread and grains, including his newest book “Living Bread: Tradition and Innovation in Artisan Bread Making”. He studied philosophy at the University of Wisconsin before graduating from the Culinary Institute of America and starting Bread Alone in 1983.

We look forward to learning from Daniel’s unique perspective, as an extremely successful business owner. We also believe Daniel truly understands the local community and its needs.”

Don Gibson also stated “We have also promoted Sean DuBois to the newly created position of Vice President, Southern Region Executive & Commercial Lender. As our Bank continues to grow in Ulster and the surrounding Counties, we feel the new position will keep us focused on our southern region customers and community needs. Sean has done a great job focusing on helping our customers in Ulster County and further south, and we want to recognize him for his efforts and leadership.”

Sean DuBois joined the bank in 2012, and has 20 years of commercial lending and business development experience. He has an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Ulster County Community College, and is very involved in the community.  Sean serves on the Boards of The Arc Mid-Hudson and Mental Health Association of Columbia Greene Counties, Inc. and enjoys playing tennis.  This year, Sean’s team went to the United States Tennis Association National Championship in Florida, and finished 6th in the Country.
