Bank Announces Lending Promotions

Donald E. Gibson, President & CEO of the Bank of Greene County, has announced the retirement of Stephen Nelson and promotions of Perry Lasher and John Antalek within the Bank’s Lending Team.

Don Gibson stated “I want to personally thank Steve Nelson for his many years of service to the Bank of Greene County, and for an outstanding job leading our Lending Department.  We wish Steve a very happy retirement.  Perry Lasher and John Antalek have done a great job this year as we transitioned responsibilities after Steve announced his intention to retire.  They both bring a wealth of experience to their positions, and many years of dedicated service to the Bank of Greene County.”

Perry Lasher has been promoted to Executive Vice President & Chief Lending Officer.  Perry has worked at the Bank since the inception of the Commercial Lending Team in 2007, holding several positions of increasing responsibility.  Perry has over 30 years of banking experience and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University at Albany.  He is a Trustee of the Greene County Historical Society and Founder/President of the Leo Lasher Catfish Derby, Inc., a non-profit organization.  He lives in Coxsackie.

John Antalek has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Director of Commercial Lending.  John joined the Bank of Greene County in 2018, and brings over 20 years of banking experience on a local and national level.  John is very involved in, and dedicated to, the Columbia County community.  He is the Vice President of the Board of Education for Ichabod Crane Central School District, Board Member of the FASNY Fire Museum, and former Board Member of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and Greenport Rescue Squad.  John lives in Valatie.
