Donald Gibson, President & CEO of the Bank of Greene County, announced that “due to the continued growth and success of our Bank, we are expanding our IT team by adding a newly created position of Chief Technology Officer and promoting a long-time employee to Vice President of IT Application Support.”
Sumeet Murarka has joined the Bank team, and brings over 25 years of experience in Information Technology and Operations. Donald Gibson stated “We are very pleased to welcome Sumeet to the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer. As the Bank continues to grow, we remain focused on Information Technology, privacy, and security. Sumeet brings a reputation for maintaining the highest level of standards in privacy and security, while optimizing technology and transforming processes.”
Sumeet holds a Master in Business Administration, Corporate Strategy from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Union College. He was most recently the Chief Technology Officer & Operations at Retina Technologies, Inc. in Manhattan, and previously served as the Chief Technology Officer/Director of IT and then Chief Information Officer of Community Care Physicians, P.C. in Latham, where he worked over 15 years.
Donald Gibson also stated “We are pleased to announce the promotion of Marge Tobiassen to Vice President of IT Application Support. Marge has been an asset to our IT Team, and has a history of dedicated service and project management. Marge oversees many of the Bank’s crucial processing systems, and this promotion is well deserved.”
Marge has been with the Bank for over 15 years, and has held positions of increased responsibility within the IT Department, most recently as the Assistant Vice President of IT Application Support. Marge has 25 years of experience in Information Technology within the Financial Services Industry, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Empire State College.
