Donald E. Gibson, President & CEO of the Bank of Greene County announced a Scholarship for a Catskill High School student starting at the College of St. Rose this fall.
Don Gibson stated “We are very pleased to offer Ava Higgins a yearly scholarship, for the next four years, as she continues her studies with a Major in Accounting at the College of St. Rose. Ava’s mom Nicole worked in our Lending Center, and was a valued and dedicated employee. We wish Ava all the best in her academic career.”
Ava Higgins graduated 3rd in her class from the Catskill High School, Class of 2021. She is continuing her studies with a Major in Accounting at the College of St. Rose in Albany. She also plays the clarinet and piano, and sung at Carnegie Hall in NYC with an all-women’s choir during High School. Ava’s mom Nicole Higgins was an employee of the Bank of Greene County who passed away suddenly. Nicole is remembered fondly by her co-workers at the Bank, and there is a plaque in her memory at the Bank sponsored garden at Dutchman’s Landing in Catskill.
