Bank Sponsors Cairo Soccer Field

CAIRO – The Bank of Greene County’s Charitable Foundation was a major sponsor of the Cairo Soccer Field, which held its ribbon cutting on Thursday, July 26.  The project, which took 11 years, was made possible through the generous support of the community and the following people/organizations:

Town of Cairo, Greene County, Delaware Engineering, Senator George Amedore, Hannaford Foundation, Hudson River Foundation, IBM Foundation, Greene County Legislature, Fortnightly Club of Catskill, Kaaterskill Engineering, Town of Cairo Highway Department, Greene County Highway Department, New York State, Patricia Gibson, Elizabeth Brinkerhoff, Ted Banta, Robert Hempstead, Daniel Benoit, Sandy Mathes, Dan Lamarre, Allen Austin, Kevin Berry, August Freeman, Jr., Manny Voss, Gary Harvey, Jim Wilson, BP Excavation – Anthony Barretta & Cody Petras, Next Gen Signs, and Timothy Holbrook.

The new Soccer Field will serve as a home for the Rip Van Winkle Soccer Club, a youth soccer program.  The Club plans on using the field for the Fall 2019 season.
