Donald E. Gibson, President & CEO of the Bank of Greene County Charitable Foundation, announced a grant to the Columbia County Office for the Aging to assist with emergency home repairs for low-income seniors residing in Columbia County.

Donald Gibson stated “This year, our Charitable Foundation is awarding $421,000 to local non-profit organizations. It is my pleasure to announce that as part of that donation, the Columbia County Office for the Aging is receiving a grant to help seniors with emergency home repairs.” Gibson added “I would like to personally thank PJ Keeler, Columbia County Treasurer, and Nina Benvenuto, Administrator, for all their assistance in designing and administering this Senior Grant Program. This grant will be very impactful in supporting low-income seniors residing in Columbia County, and is designed to provide assistance for emergency home repairs, allowing seniors to stay living in their home, and ensure the safety and quality of life for those seniors.”

PJ Keeler, Columbia County Treasurer, stated “It has truly been a pleasure to work with such a community-oriented bank over the last several years. Their interest in supporting our vulnerable population through this particular grant and their previous grants to the many organizations within our county over the last several years have made a significant impact on our residents’ quality of life and we thank them. We look forward to our continued relationship.”

Nina Benvenuto, Administrator of Columbia County Office for the Aging, added “The Bank of Greene County Charitable Foundation has extended its generous support to us, and we are incredibly grateful for it. Their contribution goes beyond providing basic amenities such as grab bars or ramps. It represents an opportunity to create more equitable conditions for Columbia County’s aging population. With this grant, we can enhance our services to empower residents by reducing their stress levels and expenses while also allowing them to stay close to their loved ones, which can have an immeasurable impact on their overall health and well-being.”

Headquartered in Catskill, NY, the Bank of Greene County is proud to serve the Capital Region and Hudson Valley with full-service, community-based banking.
