Donald Gibson, President & CEO of the Bank of Greene County, announces new positions and promotions in the Operational Support and IT Departments. Donald Gibson stated: “Due to the continued growth and success of the Bank, it is my pleasure to announce we have created several new positions. It is particularly rewarding when all of the employees promoted are from within our growing company.”
Marge Tobiassen has been promoted to the new position of Assistant Vice President, IT Application Support Officer. Marge has been with the Bank for over 12 years in the IT department, overseeing the Bank’s core processing system. Prior to that, Marge has had 20 years of experience working as an Information Technology Officer in the financial industry. Marge holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Empire State College and an Associate’s from Ulster County Community College. She is also a certified DNA creator, awarded from Fiserv. Marge’s responsibilities include oversight of the Bank’s core processing system as well as all the ancillary applications such as the loan origination systems, collection system, general ledger and investment systems, and online banking systems. She lives in Catskill in Greene County.
Rick Fernandez has been promoted to the new position of Information Security Officer. Rick has over 35 years of experience with Information Systems and has been with the Bank for 14 years. During his time with the Bank, Rick has held the positions of Manager of Information Systems and Manager of Application Support. Rick has been responsible for the project management, administration, installation, upgrade, maintenance, and transition for major banking software applications including the Bank’s loan origination, investment, collections, and financial systems. Rick’s new position within the BSA, Compliance & Operations Support Department will be focused on cybersecurity and information technology control monitoring. Rick lives in Valatie in Columbia County.
Nicholas Frantjeskos has been promoted to the new position of BSA & Operational Support Officer. Nick has worked with the Bank for 8 years, beginning his career in the branches, and has held a variety of positions of increased responsibility. He will be responsible for BSA implementation and monitoring, as well as additional management responsibilities within the department. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Albany and a Master of Business Administration from Utica College, concentrating in Economic Crime and Fraud Management. He also has a certificate of Law and Banking through American Bankers Association and is a certified IRA Specialist. Nick lives in Greenville in Greene County.
